Voiding the Void

One riddle before recovery was how to deal with the void in myself.

It was the original blackhole - eating light; shitting out shame, self pity, fear and craving.

When I approached the void, I fell in. When I ignored it, it grew. When I fed it, it got hungrier.

This was a catch 44, which is an alcoholic's version of a catch 22 - the same, only more complicated and myopic.

The solution in recovery was simply NOT to deal with the void in myself, BY myself.

Working with others and surrendering turns things from a Me to a We. The We keeps me from falling into the void, and HP turns the void's night into day.
