gibbous blessing
at half past night i sallied forth
beneath the gibbous moon
serenaded cautiously by
crickets, toad and loon
passed the forest's border
to crop circles bathed in light
unfolded senses' laboratory
but mostly leaned on sight
myth, belief, and dogma
were the first to leave the scene
covered up their footprints,
encouraging a wean
of everything that brought me here
or'd bring me here again
i signalled my agreement by
exhaling in the When
breath prostrated in the wheat
as night gave way to dawn
ten thousand stories clambered
as i threw the dewed-grass on
moon and stars and comets
kissed the chakras, took their weight
crowned me prince of clan tongues
salmon, pheasant, cedar shakes
dawn gave way to morning, afternoon
and early eve
wheat released its circles in the
greater picture's weave
of gibbous moon and Perseids,
of crickets toads and loons
the space between the everythings
from whence the mystery blooms
