adjective-free wednesday

adjective-free Wednesday did not come about without some significant internal lobbying.

on one hand, if language was simply another way reality expressed itself, then removing adjectives would be like a painter throwing blue away in an effort to true-up his artistry by creating a less complex medium

on the other hand, if the world was hidden beneath labels, wouldn't removing some of them help me see more clearly what was actually 'out there'?

for better or worse, rational discourse tapped out and I dropped into gut-level, adjective-free wayfinding for the day

the temperature wasn't hot or cold, it just was
social media discourse wasn't angry or sad, it just was
traffic wasn't crazy or relaxed, it just was

an interesting world, this, that sired an interesting finding:
there were clearly two master adjectives that ran *all* the adjectives like puppets: good and bad

good temperature, bad temperature
good social media posts, bad social media posts
good traffic, bad traffic

adjective-free Wednesday paradoxically had the ability to move me closer to reality while corroding my intimacy with it

i let this observation colonize my thinking as wednesday lay its head down

and it was Good

and that was OK.
