Praying for God

Praying for God

Today, as your irridescent arc was teased apart into every breath you’d been graced,
Latticed into a cathedral filled with sighs and wonders,
flooded with light, and laid bare for inspection
The altar broke

Physics and logic slumbered in front of the fire
Reason and ‘ology’s put their feet up
And the Divine became supplicant
Fishing your petition from the splinters

She drank your words
“May God’s needs be met”

Bowed Her head, and cried
Immanence rained
And washed your cathedral back home
