everything changed
the morning Anise recognized that she was not a slave to geography
but a slave to her THOUGHT of geography, everything changed.
it seemed the start of a cascade that dominoed every major signpost
and event of her life, but it was really a midpoint, simultaneously moving
backward and forward in time while swaddling and coddling the present.
geography wasn't the secret ingredient in the alchemy, of course; the chains to her
THOUGHTS of geography were, and once loosed the floodgates were opened:
the reading nook where the epiphany landed opened like a lotus;
Anise's hunched spine stretched out and up, out and up, out and up
till the room was just a pixel on god's blackboard
it moved like a firefly and bounced off ephemeral borders,
finally exploding in a shower of bone, dust and elements
that etched new universes, destined for glory and failure,
each personally signed by god
Anise watched the show in astonishment from the place between breaths.
17 seconds before the show was scheduled to end,
resting in certainty that her epiphany had brought her to the end of the Seeking and The Path (c),
she zoomed in on god's signatures,
saw her own name,
and realized that she was not a slave to god but to her THOUGHT of god.
And everything changed...
