let's do some building together ~
grab some corn-dusted sheet metal from our separate silos,
meet in the plain between, and make a new one

there, in the lee of the creek
we can parley over strong coffee and sandwiches;
throw down as we build up around the beliefs
that have caved the shoulders
and tatooed crows feet
lo these last 50 years

let's do some seeing together ~
lean out over the guardrail
and string lights over
to that silo
and that one
and that one

take as many suns and moons as we need
to wire all the silos together,
current them from the generator in the heart,
and ask for the grace to see

let's do some wondering together
as we're pulled up and up and up;
watch the strings become letters,
the letters become lines,
and the lines melt into a tree of life,
garlanded with every mystic's symbol except one

let's do some Being together
as we seed the missing symbol's space
with a semicolon and an exclamation mark,
meditate on the fullness of pending-and-wonder
and plant the tree in the plain
where the journey home can ever begin,
ever begin,
ever begin
